We are looking for good and loving homes. Can you help us out.

We are not just dogs and cats…

The Elk County Humane Society is well noted for the placing of dogs and cats. But did you know the shelter also houses exotic animals? We recently adpoted out “Dipstick”, a brown and white hooded rat and”Ginger”, a female white rat. They were just two of ten animals removed during a joint effort between our humane officer and the local police department. While at the shelter, Dipstick shared the office with two cat friends. It is amazing to see animals that should be enemies get along so well. It is never a dull moment in the office at the shelter. You never know who will be sharing the desk, the computer or sleeping on top of a file cabinet. We welcome the challenges along with new furry friends. Okay, even the friends that slither are welcome too
